NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Sitting Garden Hills Member of Parliament, Mario Bowleg, reacts to news of former NBA player Rick Fox officially being ratified as the MP for the very same constituency he represents.

A confident Bowleg seemed unbothered.

The same question was posed to PLP Chairman Fred Mitchell, but Mitchell had a slightly different response.

Fred Mitchell – Chairman, Progressive Liberal Party

“ I don’t have anything to say about Rick Fox. Nothing to say about Rick Fox at all, nothing.”

The PLP Chairman was also asked to weigh in on the Free National Movement slate of candidates well.

Mitchell, in his response, didn’t seem impressed.

Fred Mitchell – Chairman, Progressive Liberal Party

“ You know, zero plus zero is zero.”

With the PLP’s full slate of candidates now ratified, Mitchell says party machinery is already on the road, and the PLP is focused on making what he called a “sober, reasonable case” to the Bahamian people for re-election.

Fred Mitchell – Chairman, Progressive Liberal Party

“ I think the Bahamian people in their considered judgment, I hope, will support us, and that’s the spirit within which we will go to the Bahamian public. We take nothing for granted.”

“Nothing has to be taken, as if it’s inevitable. We know we have to make a case and we will make the best case we can, and we pray that the Bahamian public in their considered judgment supports the Progressive Liberal Party.”
