BASKETBALL

JJ put up 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists in the Liberty’s 88-77 victory over the Dallas Wings last night. She shot 5-7 from the field and impressed with her range, going 4-5 from three-point range.

She was one of five starters in double figures, with Sabrina Ionescu leading the charge with 16 points. Leonie Fiebich and Emma Messman also contributed 14 points each.

Arike Ogunbowale led the Wings with 17 points, but the Liberty’s defense stifled the rest of the starters, limiting them to no more than 6 points. The Wings struggled from beyond the arc, shooting just 3-21 from three-point range.

With that loss, the Wings are out of the tournament. The Bahamas squad went 1-3, but it was still a valuable experience for them. Meanwhile, JJ and the Liberty secured their second straight win last night.
