BPL Provides $25,000 in Community Support Through Year-End Giving

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Bahamas Power and Light Company Ltd. (BPL) concluded a year of meaningful community engagement by donating $25,000 during the month of December to charitable organizations, youth programs, civic groups, and community-focused initiatives acros The Bahamas.

BPL CEO Toni Seymour emphasized that the company’s responsibility extends beyond providing electricity. “At BPL, we believe in powering more than infrastructure; we believe in powering people,” Seymour said. “These contributions represent our commitment to standing with the organizations and individuals who help power our nation every day. It is truly an honor to support programs that bring hope, care, and light to communities across The Bahamas.”

Director of Communications Theodore Sealy added that the donations reflect BPL’s appreciation for organizations that consistently serve the nation’s most vulnerable. “Building for Better is not solely about microgrids and power lines; it is about strengthening the communities and citizens who rely on our power supply,” Sealy noted. “The organizations we partner with play a vital role in empowering The Bahamas, and it is our privilege to support them in any way we can.”

$2,000 to the Bahamas Children’s Emergency Hostel to establish an account with

Imperial Optical for children’s eye care

$2,000 to Great Commission Ministries in support of Hope Fest

$2,000 to the Old Bight Mission Home in Cat Island (including $1,000 from the Bahamas

Electrical Workers Union)

$2,000 to Bishop Lawrence Rolle’s International Deliverance Praying Ministry (including

$1,000 from the Bahamas Electrical Workers Union)

$1,000 to FOAM (Families of All Murdered Victims) for its annual Christmas Dinner and Toy Giveaway
