NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Public Service Minister Pia Glover-Rolle responding to concerns from employees across the public services after alleged discrepancies in their salaries posted on July 29th.

The minster who spoke on the sidelines of an induction ceremony for customs officers Monday, said all increment payments were made, save for what she says is a very small number of employees who have had systemic issues.

Those issues she says are being worked on to ensure accuracy of payments before they are assigned.

Meanwhile, in a press conference at his office on Tuesday, President of Bahamas Public Service Union Kimsley Ferguson criticized the minister’s statements as insufficient and dismissive.

He accused the ministry of neglecting widespread pay discrepancies and demanded immediate, transparent action for fair compensation.

Ferguson also suggested government could have explored making incremental NIB payments claiming the recent increase in contributions wiped out any increment a public servant may have received.
