NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas Public Services Union taking their outrage to the front of the University of The Bahamas as they say they’ve not received any salary increases in the past three agreements.

Union leader Kimsley Ferguson says they’re being treated like second-class citizens and to make matters worse, he claims the union reached out to officials at the university and got no response.

Ferguson expressed disappointment that things had to get to this point.

The union’s action coincided with the launch of the university’s 50-year Anniversary celebration.

The ceremony got underway at 11am. The group marched over to the venue making their presence known.

The plan was to get a word with the prime minister once the event ended but that didn’t happen.

The prime minister was whisked away before being confronted by the union.

Free National Movement Leader Michael Pintard came out to hear the union’s concern and committed to mentioning the issue to officials.

Meanwhile, UB Interim President Janyne Hodder says the plan was to have a meeting with the union at 2pm.
