NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Brazilians in the capital recently celebrating 200 years of independence with a performance by Virtuoso Harmonica and guitar duo Pablo Fagundes and Marcus Moraes. 

Joining them was flautist Dr. Christine Gangelhoff.

The Brazilian duo entertaining Brazilians and residents with sounds from both countries as a symbol of the close ties. 

Brazil is the largest and most populous South American country. It gained independence in 1822 after more than 300 years of Portuguese rule, abolishing slavery in 1888 and becoming a republic in 1889. 

The Bahamas and Brazil are nearing two decades of diplomatic ties.

While attending the event, Royal Bahamas Defence Force commodore saying our common ties outweighs our differences.
