NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty for the suspect in the murder of 12-year-old Adriel Moxey after her tragic murder reignited calls for the resumption of capital punishment, according to well-placed sources.

The seventh grade student at the Anatol Rodgers High School was found murdered in bushes off a track road that led to her home in Bonefish Farm, off Faith Avenue on November 20.

Authorities confirmed that she had been strangled and raped.

The 38-year-old suspect will be formally charged with murder, unlawful sexual intercourse and forcible detention on Monday.
