CANADA – Canada is expanding its economic sanctions freezing the Canadian assets of Haitian political elites to include Former President Michale Martelly and Former Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe and Jean-Henry Ceant.

The Canadian Foreign Minister this weekend accused the trio of helping gangs to undermine Haiti’s current government calling on international partners to follow Canada’s lead.

That country continues to be paralyzed by gang warfare.

Haiti’s Foreign Minister said the new sanctions put real consequences on those causing a nightmare.
