CANADA – Canada’s Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland has resigned, citing disagreements with Prime Pinister Justin Trudeau over how to handle U.S. President-Elect Donald Trump’s tariff threats.

In a resignation letter shared monday, Freeland said she and Trudeau were “At odds” on Canada’s Economic path forward and criticized costly policies like sending $250 cheques to Canadians, calling them “Political Gimmicks.”

Freeland also warned that Trump’s “Aggressive Economic Nationalism” poses a “Grave challenge” to Canada.
