NASSAU, BAHAMAS – It’s already day two of the CARIFTA Aquatics Championships over in Curacao with Team Bahamas.

The Bahamas gained a significant lead in the medals and points standings on day one.

The Bahamas National Swim team ended day one from Curacao with a significant lead in the medal and the points count. 

Jaylah Threadgill won the first gold medal for The Bahamas, coming first in the girls’ 11 and 12 200meter breaststroke.

Trace Russell followed her to the podium shortly afterwards, winning the boys 11-12 200meter breaststroke. 

Another notable win from the night came from David Singh who won the boys 11-12 50meter backstroke.
