Cases Of RSV, Flu Ticking Up Among Young Children in U.S.

UNITED STATES – Flu and RSV cases are creeping up across the U.S., particularly in children, though overall respiratory virus activity remains low, according to the CDC.

As of late November, RSV is elevated in the South, Central, and East, with 5.6% of weekly tests positive. Flu positivity is at 2.5% and children under 4 account for the highest emergency room visits and hospitalizations.

Experts say the rise is typical for fall and winter, resembling pre-pandemic patterns.
