GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Celebration Key is joining forces with local first responders to ensure that Carnival Corporation’s flagship destination is fully prepared at all times to ensure guest and workforce safety.

To date, the Celebration Key Fire Response Team has completed two dynamic joint training exercises with the Royal Bahamas Police Force’s Grand Bahama Fire Services Department as part of ongoing emergency readiness efforts at the destination.

The training programs featured one day of classroom-based theory and one day of practical, hands-on exercises. Team members from across Celebration Key’s departments — including Health, Environmental, Safety and Sustainability (HESS), Operations, Engineering, and Security — enhanced their skills in fire science, hose handling, fire truck operation, and advanced firefighting techniques.

“This collaborative effort not only sharpened our response capabilities but also strengthened our partnership with local emergency services,” said Garelle Hudson, HESS manager for Celebration Key. “We’re grateful to the Grand Bahama Fire Services for sharing their expertise. Our fire response team is now better equipped to manage any fire-related threats we may encounter in our day-to-day operations.”

The first two exercises, which took place in July and August, were part of a three-part training series designed to ensure peak readiness at all times at Celebration Key. The third round is set for September.

GB Fire Services Administrative Sergeant Narron Rolle praised the initiative, stating: “Celebration Key is a major project for Grand Bahama, with thousands of guests and local service providers to keep safe. We commend Carnival Corporation and Celebration Key for their proactive approach to fire safety.”

Opening its doors last month, Celebration Key is already bringing thousands of additional guests to Grand Bahama on a daily basis. The destination is also employing around 700 Bahamians, including 400 Bahamians hired directly by Carnival Corporation.
