FRANCE – Sprint hurdler Devynne Charlton was back in action on the European indoor circuit.

During the latest stop on the World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold, at the meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais Trophée EDF in Liévin, France, she took the 60m hurdles in 7.79 secs.

With the World Indoor Championships next month in Poland, the two-time champion and world record holder is looking to peak at the right time.

Top Sailors Off To Fast Starts on Day One

In the OPTI Championship Division, Simon Escruceria of Lyford Cay leads after two first place finishes.

In Sunfish, Emitt Knowles of ESC has two third-place finishes, Sonny Ampleman placed fourth and second, and Tyrese Mckenzie has a fifth and a first.

Over in Laser, Koss Knowles and Drake Knowles are locked in a tight battle after trading first and second-place finishes.

In OPTI Green, Kenson Pinder of Spanish Wells grabbed race one win to lead the fleet, and in E-class sloop, Lady Annemarie, skippered by Drake and Kristos Knowles, swept both races to set the pace.

Teams Advance to Pool Championships

It’s elimination night at the Hugh Campbell Tournament.

The St. George’s Jaguars, Blazer Elite Dragons, St. John’s Giants and R.M. Bailey Pacers advanced to the pool championships in Friday’s early session at the A.F. Adderley Gymnasium.

St. Georges stayed alive and advanced with a 50-36 win over the Jordan Prince William Falcons.

The Giants advanced with a 38-37 win over Agape and the Dragons won 55-50 over Patrick Bethel.

Playing with heavy hearts after the loss of program architect Bonnie Basden, the Sunland Stingers staved off elimination briefly with a 37-22 win over the Jack Hayward Wildcats, but eventually were eliminated 35-30 by the Pacers.
