NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Hospital Lane again the scene of another murder in the capital, this one number 25.

Shortly before 3pm Tuesday afternoon, the victim who Our News understands is Edlin Severe was shot and killed just outside the New Unity Fellowship Church.

Police Press Liaison Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings tells us the man was on bail for a 2020 murder.

Rector of the St. Agnes Church Fr Keith Cartwright tells us he knew the victim and his girlfriend who are residents of the area.

He recalls what happened when they heard the shots from inside the church.

The harrowing tale happened as Our News team was preparing for another interview at St. Agnes Church when we heard the gunshots prompting us to take cover at the Baillou Hill Road Church.

This latest murder comes amid a spike in homicides throughout the month of January.

The incident however drawing international press from CBS to the scene.

Skippings says they spoke with Severe last week during a walkabout, that’s when he informed them that he gave his life to Christ.
