UNITED STATES – More than 179,000 safety 1st child car seats are being recalled due to a possible choking hazard.

Manufacturer Dorel Juvenile Group says foam in the headrest of its Grow and Go Sprint models may come loose, allowing small children to pick it off and potentially choke.

The recall affects seats made between Feb. 28- Dec. 31, 2023.

Dorel is not asking customers to return the seats, instead, the company will mail free replacement headrest pads to registered owners starting June 9th.
