NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A company founded in 2018 has made a mission of transforming plastics into the building blocks of the future.

Don Thomson and his company, The Center for Regenerative Design and Collaboration, has found a way to turn plastic waste into a construction aggregate called resin8.

Plastic waste finds new life.

Thomson tells us resin8 helps to generate value from plastic waste.

One of the ways is by improving the properties of traditional concrete, including insulation, better thermal and acoustic characteristics.

But with a mission to help reduce plastic waste, how does the company also thrive off of it?

Thomson recognizes the big picture including the impact plastics are having on the world around us and small island nations such as The Bahamas.

CRDC says even if the world reduced reliance on plastics by more than 90 percent, there would still be long term work in mining plastics out of landfills.
