NEW YORK – Jazz Chisholm Jr continues to set a new standard for Bahamian baseball in the major leagues and reached yet another career milestone.

Playing with a heavy heart mourning the loss of a close friend, Chisholm delivered a historic performance with a multi home-run game in the Yankees’ 7-2 win over the Boston Red Sox.

The two homers were numbers 23 and 24 for the season and also numbers 100 and 101 for his MLB career.

The first was a two-run shot in the second inning while home run number two came in the eighth inning.

He’s just six homers and eight stolen bases shy of a vaunted 30/30 season and the Yankees are now just a half-game behind the red sox for the top spot in the American League East Wild Card standings.

FIBA Americup

A shorthanded Team Bahamas was lacking depth and playmaking in an 84-66 to Brazil Sunday at the FIBA Americup in Managua, Nicaragua.

Franco Miller Jr led the team with 19 points, Sammy Hunter and Garvin Clarke Jr each scored 10 and Isaiah Mobley added eight.

Brazil’s second unit accounted for 49 points compared to just 13 off the bench from The Bahamas.

To advance, The Bahamas faces a must win Tuesday against Uruguay and will also need the USA to defeat Brazil.
