NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Should churches be audited by the government?

Bishop Delton Fernander, Bahamas Christian Council president, is pushing back against churches across the country being audited by the government. This week, government officials visited several churches throughout the country.

Fernander tells us these kinds of audits also took place under the previous Minnis administration, but he did not expect them under the Davis administration.

The Bishop feels there should be a line when it comes to tithes and other church donations, which he sees as an act of charity.
