Ole Miss Beats In-State Rival 78-63, Sweeps Series.

OXFORD, MS, USA – Coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin and the University of Mississippi Rebels rebounded in a big way last night defeating heated in-state rivals, Mississippi State 78-63.

The win came right in time, coming on the heels of back-to-back losses to Alabama and Auburn last week. While Ole Miss didn’t have an answer for the Alabama schools, they knew just what to do with Miss State, jumping out to a 25-10 lead in the first half and never letting up.

They were led by Angel Baker, who had a great all-around effort with 17 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds. Marquesha Davis added 14 and 3. The Rebels pounded the paint, grabbing 11 offensive rebounds and allowing them to score 14 second-chance points.

They also received a healthy 27 points off the bench with Snudda Collins scoring 15 of them.

The win means that Ole Miss swept their in-state rival for the season. A fact they’re more than happy to boast about.
