COLOMBIA – Colombia’s foreign minister says the country’s military must defend its territory and sovereignty, if a hypothetical U.S. Invasion were to occur.

Rosa Villavicencio made the comments Tuesday, after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened Colombia with military action, similar to a recent operation in Venezuela that ended with the capture of President Nicolás Maduro.

Villavicencio said under international law, states have the right to legitimate self-defence and Colombia’s armed forces would be required to act.
