GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Grand Bahama’s tourism engine is revving up and the Freeport Business Expo is being positioned as the ignition switch.

As the island gets ready to welcome major developments like Carnival’s Celebration Key, the expo will connect local tourism businesses with international providers who supply cruise destinations around the world.

Cruise partners have long called for more to do once visitors arrive in The Bahamas and Grand Bahama Port Authority Special Projects Manager Glendia Sweeting says this expo on April 30th aims to fill that gap.

The biggest benefit? Having everyone under one roof at the Grand Lucayan Hotel from developers and vendors to banks and insurers.

To make it easier for existing and aspiring local operators, GBPA’s investment website – investgrandbahama.com, now maps out every major project on the island.

And with Carnival’s opening just months away, stakeholders like sweeting say the groundwork is finally paying off and that’s why she says she believes anyone serious about growing their business should make it a point to be at this year’s expo.
