NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A convicted bank robber has lost his bid to challenge his 25-year jail sentence.

Hancel Rolle was jailed after jurors found that he robbed Scotiabank in Stella Maris, Long Island of $7,000 on May 31, 2012.

Two men wearing hood jackets and armed with shotguns stormed into the bank and demanded cash.

The men fired shots, causing famage to the building.

Rolle was convicted in 2016 and the Court of Appeal affirmed his conviction in 2019.

However, Rolle told the Court of Appeal that his lawyer has abandoned his appeal against sentence without his permission.

Since the challenge to his sentence had already been dealt with the appellate court said the matter could not be revisited.
