Conviction Upheld for Man who Robbed Store Owner in Front of Son

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – An Appeal Court has upheld the conviction of a man who robbed a storeowner in front of her nine-year-old son.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – An Appeal Court has upheld the conviction of a man who robbed a storeowner in front of her nine-year-old son.

This means that Marcus Ward will have to serve his eight year sentence for the February 7, 2021.

At around 9:30pm on the day in question, Marcia Hutchinson was accosted by a lone gunman as she left VIP Clothing Store on Dumping Ground Corner who demanded cash.

First, Hutchinson handed over her cellphone. That’s when the gunman said, “Give me the money before I shoot you.”

At this point, Hutchinson gave the robber $200.

Hutchinson said she recognized the assailant as someone who lived in the area and a past customer.
