NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A corrections officer is facing charges after he allegedly smuggled contraband into the prison.

Tomico Major is accused of bringing one and a half pounds of marijuana, five packs of cigarettes and alcohol onto the compound on March 31.

As a result of the discovery, police executed a search warrant on major’s home at Lumumba Lane on April 9.

There, they allegedly found under 2 ounces of marijuana.

He denied the charges at his arraignment before magistrate Raquel Whymms.

He was granted $6,000 bail and returns to court on june 4th for his trial.
