NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two corrections officers are facing charges after they were accused of bringing drugs and other contraband into the prison.

Thirty-four-year-old Vernisha Moss and 25-year-old Claysandra Morley stood before Magistrate Shaka Serville on charges of drug possession with intent to supply and taking prohibited items into a correctional facility.

The women were arrested at the prison on October 17 after they were allegedly found with 10 ounces of marijuana, an Alcatel cellphone and cellphone charger.

They’ve denied these charges and are free on $4,000, pending the conclusion of their trial which is set to begin on March 11.
