NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Nearly a year after a man died in a traffic accident, prosecutors opened their case against the man and woman accused of causing his death.

Kiara Murphy and Delmaro Johnson are charged with vehicular manslaughter in the April 23, 2025 death of Timothy Stubbs.

Prosecutors allege that on April 21, Johnson was driving a Honda Pilot on Carmichael Road while arguing with Murphy, his girlfriend.

She allegedly grabbed the wheel, causing the vehicle to swerve into Stubbs’ lane, causing a collision. He died from his injuries in hospital two days after the accident.

Murphy and Johnson have pleaded not guilty at their trial before Justice Neil Brathwaite and are on bail.
