NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A murder suspect who sought bail on medical grounds will remain behinds bars as he awaits trial, an appeals court has ruled.

The Court of Appeal upheld a decision by Justice Neil Brathwaite to refuse 28-year-old Dondre Ramsey bail for his protection and that of the public.

He faces a murder charge concerning the  July 20 shooting death of Elvardo Thompson at Pinecrest Subdivision.

He’s also accused of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger of  PC 4476 McHardy who was shot at as he pursued the murder suspect’s getaway car.

Ramsey, who has seizures, alleges that he is not getting adequate care for his medical issues.
