NASSAU, BAHAMAS – With the Davis administration relaxing COVID-19 protocols this week, some say the end of the pandemic is near. But, one top doctor says, “not so fast”.

President of the Consultant Physicians Staff Association, Dr. Sabriquet Pinder-Butler says as COVID infections and the death rate continue to decline. It’s no shocker that the mask mandate will be lifted next month.

But, as some celebrate, Dr. Pinder-Butler says caution should still be the order of the day.

When it comes to the vaccination rate, she believes the country has done a pretty good job, but could certainly do better.

Pinder-Butler adding there are a number of factors in play that could present some challenges.

And, if the country does experience an uptick. She says everyone, including the Ministry of Health, must do their parts.
