DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – The Dominican Republic rejecting criticism of its crackdown on Haitian migrants.

The criticism coming from a growing number of countries and human rights agencies.

Dominican authorities are ramping up border enforcement and deportations of Haitians, saying the actions are crucial to national security.

The crackdown comes as turmoil intensifies in neighboring Haiti due to gang blockages and a cholera outbreak.

Authorities say they’ve deported over 43,000 migrants between July and October.
