NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Court of Appeal has upheld the decision of the Pharmacy Council to strip a pharmacist who studied at McHari Institute of his license.

After receiving a Bachelors degree in Pharmacy from McHari, Rudolph Gibson became a licensed pharmacist in 2012.

His license was renewed annually until 2016.

However, further renewals were refused after the Pharmacy Council determined that the licenses granted to Gibson and other McHari graduates were invalid because the degrees did not meet the accreditation requirements of the Pharmacy Act.

Gibson unsuccessfully challenged the decision to the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.
