NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Devynne Charlton has already built a legendary resume on the track and now continues her philanthropic efforts with the launch of her Barrier Breakers Foundation.
The 60m hurdles world record holder announced her initial investment of $20,000 to the foundation.
The organization’s aim is to provide necessary resources for the development of underserved student athletes.
Coming up through the track and field system in The Bahamas, Charlton said she recognized that the majority of the national team members were from private schools.
This prompted her to act and begin a search to find ways to reach student athletes that may not have access to the same resources.
The launch of the foundation followed Charlton’s other community initiatives.
She has hosted free clinics for aspiring hurdlers and has also presented footwear to student athletes through her puma sponsorship.
