NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Ministry of Education looking to aggressively tackle learning loss caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

To do that, they’re launching the Learning Recovery Assessment Program.

The program is a joint effort between the ministry and Renaissance Learning Incorporated to learn how far behind public students fell during the height of COVID-19 pandemic.

Education Minister Glenys Hanna-Martin was on hand for the launch.

Education Director Dominique Mccartney-Russell says work on the program has already started.

She said the plan is to have the assessments completed by June.

Over 40,000 students are expected to be a part of the program.

She said a number of strategies are available to combat learning loss challenges.
