DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – More than 370,000 undocumented Haitians have been deported from the Dominican Republic over the past year under tougher immigration measures by President Luis Abinader.

Human rights groups say the mass raids and detentions have led to abuses, even against Haitians with valid documents.

The Dominican government insists it’s enforcing its laws, while the United Nations and Amnesty International condemn the policy as discriminatory.

Authorities say the crackdown will continue as construction of a border wall with Haiti moves ahead.
