ELEUTHERA, BAHAMAS – Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper making it clear that the Davis administration will make aggressive infrastructural investments on the island of Eleuthera.

He made the comments while addressing the Eleuthera Business Outlook where he insisted Eleuthera is a key player in the nation’s number one industry.

When it comes to the airports in Governor’s Harbour and  North Eleuthera, Cooper says there’s more work in the pipeline.

As for major development on the island, Cooper says Disney’s Lighthouse Pointe is surpassing expectations. The DPM credited the multi-million dollar project with helping revive the South Eleuthera economy.

Another major project in the pipeline is being backed by Cotton Bay Holdings Ltd., which announced in 2021 its agreement with Marriott International, Inc. to bring the exclusive Ritz-Carlton reserve brand to The Bahamas.

The resort and residentIal development is a proposed open-air development that’s expected to feature 90 guest rooms and 60 Ritz-Carlton reserve-branded residences.

Cooper says he expects work to begin soon on the project.
