NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Tonight, an economist and former state finance minister is weighing in on a recent International Monetary Fund report that forecasts a slowing in the Bahamian economy.

He’s insisting there’s no need to panic.

The International Monetary Fund is showing signs of slowing down.

The IMF says the high cost of living, along with elevated public debt, structural bottlenecks to growth, and high exposure to natural disasters are the leading factors.

But should taxpayers be concerned?

Economist, and former state minister of finance, Zhivargo Laing, doesn’t think so.
