LOS ANGELES , UNITED STATES – What makes the Rising Stars event special at NBA all-star weekend is the young guys always play with something to prove.

Since draft night it’s been seen that very few play like VJ Edgecombe.

The numbers tell only one side of the story.

Edgecombe’s MVP performance at the Castrol Rising Stars Challenge became the talk of the NBA All-Star Weekend, but what stood out most was how he processed it afterward.
He described the moment as a blessing, both to play on this stage and to learn from Hall of Famer, Vince Carter.

Edgecome had a stepback jumper to win the semis, and free throws to win the finals. While he relished this weekend, he looks to forward to an All-Star appearance in the future.

MLB

As spring training got underway in Tampa, Florida – Jazz Chisholm Jr. is matching the energy from his front office.

He said feels like the Yankees have the personnel to run it back and get to the world series and so does the Yankees brass.

New York’s roster from last October has hardly changed, essentially the same team that finished tied for the Al East lead at 94-68 with the Blue Jays and eventually fell short against them in the postseason.

Twenty four of those twenty six players from the postseason roster are back, with the only free agent signees being the ones that the team retained from last year.

Equestrian

Last fall, Equestrian Bahamas made history after they hosted the first ever FEI-recognized competition held in the country. The competition brought international-level show jumping to Bahamian soil for the first time.

Emerging from that competition was 17-year-old Katerina Coello, the lone Bahamian competitor in the FEI jumping challenge, rode Whiterock Duggie through a demanding three-part series.

Coello finished first in FEI zone 10 and cracked the Global Top 20, placing 17th out of 236 competitors worldwide.

She competed in Category C, through six rounds with between 10-13 obstacles per course, designed by elite FEI level three course designers from Brazil and Portugal.

The FEI World Challenge series is designed to give athletes who may not have the resources to travel abroad a chance to compete internationally from their home country.

And now with this breakthrough moment, local riders proved they can compete and win on the world stage.
