UNITED STATES – VJ Edgecombe will shine bright among the league’s top young stars at NBA All-Star weekend.
Edgecombe has been named to the roster for the NBA’s Castrol Rising Stars game, a showcase of the league’s premier young talents featuring the NBA’s top rookies and second-year players.
The game will be played, February 13, at the Intuit Dome as part of NBA All-Star 2026.
A new format, the event features a mini-tournament with players drafted onto 4 teams and playing 3 games,
Hall of famers Carmelo Anthony, Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady will serve as honorary coaches, while Austin Rivers will coach the G League Rising Stars team.
Semifinal games will be played to 40 points, with the championship game decided by the first team to reach 25 points.
Edgecombe has appeared in 41 games this season for the Philadelphia 76ers, averaging 15.4 points per game, third among rookies, along with 5.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists.
He is one of only two rookies this season averaging at least 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists, and his 11 games of 20-plus points rank third among first-year players.
Defensively, Edgecombe has been a force, recording 26 steals in the month of January, the second most in the NBA, while his 1.5 steals per game lead all rookies.
The Bahamian native made an immediate impact in his NBA debut on October 22 at Boston, scoring 34 points to set a new franchise record for the highest-scoring debut in Philadelphia 76ers history, surpassing Allen Iverson.
It was also the third-highest scoring output ever in a debut game.

In Minnesota, Buddy Hield and the shorthanded Golden State Warriors fell 108–83 to the Timberwolves.
He played 29 minutes but shot 2-10 with 5 points and 3 assists.
VJ Edgecombe and the Philadelphia 76ers struggled in a road game against the Charlotte Hornets with a 130–93 loss.
He had 9 points and 6 rebounds but the 76ers fell behind big early and never recovered.
Deandre Ayton and the Los Angeles Lakers were the only ones to get a win, 129–118 over the Chicago Bulls.
He struggled from the field as well with 6 points and 2 rebounds in 22 minutes.
NBA G-League
Franco Miller Jr is making the most of his opportunities with the Santa Cruz Warriors – with increased time, we’ve seen the numbers improve across the board.
Monday night, miller scored a career-high 21 points and 8 rebounds in a 126–113 loss to the Salt Lake City Stars.
It was just the latest game in Miller’s progression.
He also had a 16-point, 7-rebound, 5-assist performance over the weekend against the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
Miller is also in the mix for fan support in the 2026 NBA G League next up game presented by AT&T, fans have until January 30 to vote for their favorite players to participate in the All-Star Weekend G League showcase.
Miller, drafted with the 58th overall pick in the 2025 NBA G League draft, is averaging 7.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.
