Eleuthera 5th Grader Helps Community

Published

on

Fifth grader and Eleuthera native Marcellus Pyfrom is a little boy on a mission to put smiles on the faces of residents of his community through acts of kindness.

For nine-year-old Marcellus Pyfrom, helping others has become more than just a hobby. Earlier this year, the fifth grader at Wemyss Bight primary school started his own charity named “Little Helping Hands”.

Marcellus has hit the ground running hosting a feeding program for 50 senior citizens on Eleuthera and organizing a clean-up campaign. His mom, Eldiqua Thompson, who is also a teacher and senior mistress at Wemyss Bight primary, says her son has a very big support team that includes family and friends.

Now Marcellus says he is hoping to inspire others, saying, “Never be scared and never be shy… Always try to do your best.”

Marcellus and his mom say there are other future projects planned including another clean-up campaign and tutoring sessions.
