UNITED STATES – Billionaire Elon Musk is officially out of the Trump administration, stepping down as head of the Department of Government Efficiency on Wednesday, after clashing with the President over a massive spending bill.

Musk, who led deep federal cuts and layoffs at agencies like USAID, says the bill will balloon the deficit and undercut his team’s work.

The DOGE department slashed over $150B in government spending and laid off more than 2 million workers.

His exit marks the latest high-profile rift inside the administration, as Trump defends what he calls his “big, beautiful bill.”
