NASSAU, BAHAMAS – He’s the youngest in our lineup of emerging Bahamians featured in our upcoming Independence special.

Track and field athlete Keyshawn Strachan competes in the javelin throw and holds the national record in the sport. Despite not qualifying for the Paris Olympics, this 20-year-old rising star is determined to leave his mark on Bahamian athletics. Awarded first-team All-American honors, Strachan has big Olympic dreams.

In our upcoming show, we delve into his journey and ambitions. While walking the track at the old Thomas A. Robinson Stadium, we got an intimate look at the proud Andros native, revealing a different side as he answered questions like:

“We also explored his Bahamian heritage, learning about his favorite local dishes, the beaches on Andros he loves, and what makes him truly Bahamian.”

Tune in on July 23 to discover his answers and much more as we honor his contributions to nation-building for the next 50 years and beyond.
