NASSAU, BAHAMAS – While most of us returned to work Tuesday, many in Pinewood Gardens community are still stuck in their homes due to high flood waters as Tropical Storm Imelda dumped inches of rain.

I headed to the community where i spoke to the impacted residents. I met residents walking in knee-high water.

My camerman and I also waded through the flood waters where we met kilo smith, a truck driver who was sweeping water out of his home.

He invited us inside and the damage was evident – furniture, equipment, and appliances- destroyed.

Videos from before show the water was around five to six inches high in his home, he tell’s me however he’s still grateful as he picks up the pieces.

I continued my walk where I met the outgoing deputy chairman of the National Commission for Disabled Persons, Kendrick Rolle who’s blind.

He also invited us into his home, and what we saW was heart-wrenching.

Water damage all around the floor, parts of the roof sinking in. Here you can even see where a portion of it collapsed onto a bed.
