Ex-Cop and Mexicans Charged in $9 Million Drug Bust Case

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A former policeman and three Mexicans are facing charges in connection with a $9 million cocaine seizure.

Harry Dolce, the ex-cop, and Mexican nationals Jorge Chacon, Rodrigo Arce and Edgar Ruceno have been charged with conspiracy to import drugs, conspiracy to possess drugs with intent to supply, drug importation and drug possession with intent to supply.

On June 23rd, authorities found 1,122 pounds of cocaine while searching a Cessna aircraft on Long Island.

The defendants were arrested and charged as a result of the seizure.

The men denied the accusations made against them at their arraignment before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt.

Dolce was granted $50,000 bail on the condition that he wears an ankle monitor.

Dolce’s co-accused were remanded into custody as they have no immigration status in the country.

They are scheduled to return to court on September 4 for the start of their trial.
