NASSAU, BAHAMAS – What started as celebration ended in confusion and frustration for members of the Fancy Dancers Junkanoo group as they were initially named unofficial winners of the 2024 Boxing Day Junkanoo parade.

However, days later, they were informed that the results had been recalculated, and they lost the title, with Colours emerging as the b-group winner.

Former chairman and now board advisor to the Fancy Dancers, Carlos Pyfrom calling it a blatant disrespect.

The former chairman is also questioning the timeline of events and whether it followed regulation.

Pyfrom claiming the Fancy Dancers have 10 B-groups and 4 A-groups standing with them on the issue.

Earlier this week the group had a meeting with the JCNP, he said the next step will be to take this issue before the courts.
