UNITED STATES – The FDA is expanding its warning about radioactive shrimp, recalling more brands over possible contamination.

Nearly 18 thousand bags of Kroger Mercado shrimp, And more than 26 thousand packages of Walmart cocktail shrimp have been recalled.

All were processed by an Indonesian supplier now under full import alert.

The FDA says the shrimp may have been handled in unsanitary conditions and could be contaminated with the radioactive isotope cesium one thirty seven which can damage DNA and increase cancer risk.

No illnesses have been reported, but consumers are urged to throw out the products immediately.
