NASSAU, BAHAMAS – As the war on crime rages, residents again express a mix of fear and concern over the vexing issue.

The country recorded four homicides in the last four days. The latest saw a man walking on Cambridge and Hospital Lanes ambushed by a gunman and killed right next to a church and opposite a community park.

The crime issue even drew international press to The Bahamas after Canada and the United States issued warnings to its residents traveling here.

But what can we do to fix the ongoing problem?

The prime minister, law enforcement officers, and even religious leaders have all called for an all-hands-on-deck approach to fighting crime.

We even saw the prime minister releasing a comprehensive plan to combat crime and curb gang violence. Then there were the amendments to the bail act with the official opposition opposed.
