LONG ISLAND, BAHAMAS – Former Long Island Member of Parliament Larry Cartwright lost his home, Friday, after a blaze tore through the family home.

According to police reports, the three-bedroom, two-bathroom wooden structure in Grays, Long Island was completely destroyed.

Police say they received a call around 8:10am about the blaze and the fire was extinguished shortly after 1pm using an 800-gallon water tank, pump and hose system.

Police say they were able to contain the fire, and no other homes were impacted. There were no reported injuries and our news understands Cartwright and his wife doing well, despite the unfortunate ordeal.
