BIMINI, BAHAMAS – Eleven families are homeless after a fire on the island of Bimini destroyed four homes. 

Prime Minister Philip Davis travelled to that northern island assuring residents that the government will support their recovery efforts. He says during this time, thanks must be given to god that no lives were lost. 

Minister of Social Services and Member of Parliament for the island, Obie Wilchcombe, shared that his ministry as well as the island administrator have already moved to secure housing for those affected. 

He says by Thursday of next week, a team from foreign affairs will also be on the ground organizing new passports.
