First Lady on the Advancement of FEMSTEM Bahamas

FEMSTEM Bahamas and the Department of Gender and Family Affairs, partner to mark the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas is taking attainable steps to achieve goals set out by the United Nations, for the advancement of women and girls in science and technology, according to Ann Marie Davis of the Office of the Spouse of the Prime Minister.

 



Davis delivered the keynote address as FEMSTEM Bahamas and the Department of Gender and Family Affairs, partnered to mark the International Day of Women and Girls in Science on February 11th, 2021.

Davis noting a recent memorandum of understanding signed by the government will provide more opportunities for women pursuing an education and careers in tech. She says the University of The Bahamas will play a key role in the partnership.

She also commended FEMSTEM, which continues to invest in the future of young girls.
