NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A new five-year industrial agreement is now in place for managers at Kentucky Fried Chicken Bahamas, following successful negotiations between Bahamas Restaurant Limited and the Bahamas Hotel Managerial Association.

Both parties say the agreement strikes a balance between protecting employee well-being and supporting the company’s long-term business growth.

The agreement was signed this week, marking the conclusion of months of discussions. Company executives say it reflects a people-first approach that prioritizes fairness, stability, and professional development for managers across the organization.

Director of Human Resources at Bahamas Restaurant Limited, Nina Maynard, says the agreement reinforces the company’s commitment to safeguarding the dignity, well-being, and opportunities of its managers.

Maynard says managers will benefit from enhanced vacation provisions, a non-contributory pension fund, partially subsidized health insurance, and strong sick leave benefits. She noted that the measures are designed to support managers who work long hours and ensure they are able to take care of their health without fear of penalty.

Meanwhile, Bahamas Hotel Managerial Association President Obie Ferguson says the negotiation process itself represented a significant shift in how labour agreements are reached. He explained that managers were given greater visibility and involvement throughout discussions, ensuring the final agreement reflects their real workplace experiences.

Both sides say the new agreement sets a positive tone for future labour negotiations and strengthens the partnership between Bahamas Restaurant Limited and KFC Bahamas managers.
