NASSAU, BAHAMAS – FNM Chairman Dr. Duane Sands dismisses the idea that former FNM parliamentarian and DNA leader Branville McCartney could lead the Free National Movement. This follows speculation after McCartney resurfaced to support former Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis in his leadership bid.

When asked about McCartney’s relevance to the party, Dr. Sands posed this rhetorical question: “What relevance might I add?”

McCartney, who served under the Ingraham administration, left the FNM in 2012 to form the Democratic National Alliance. Despite failing to secure seats, McCartney hinted at a return to the FNM, sparking rumors he could be second in line if Minnis wins.

Sands, however, remains unconcerned, noting the recent addition of another key political figure to their cause.
